Thought for the Month
Children sometimes misinterpret what they hear. One four-year-old was heard trying to repeat the words of the Lord’s prayer by saying, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us some E-mail.”
Another was heard praying, “And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.”
God must delight in slowly but surely lifting the curtain of childhood misconceptions. He uses the efforts of parents, teachers, and friends to help children better understand His world. In time, they see more clearly what God intends for them to do with their lives and how best they can use their lives in service to others.
Each of us, whether eight or eighty years old, has only a limited understanding of life itself. Many of the questions we have won’t be answered until we’re in heaven with Him. But until then, we learn and grow together in His kingdom, relying on His love and mercy.
Prayer – Thank You for Your patience with us, Lord. Give us the ability to use our time and talents to help each other grow in wisdom and faith. By Glen Kuck, Principal
